Kieran Tierney has revealed that Arsenal attempted to sign him at the age of 18 during Wenger’s reign

According to Kieran Tierney, Arsenal was interested in signing him during Arsene Wenger’s reign as the club’s manager.

Under Unai Emery, the left-back relocated to the Emirates, where he has so far been a constant in their lineup.

He consistently performs at a high level, and Mikel Arteta has continued to put his faith in him. He also performs well when he is in shape.

When Tierney first made his mark at Celtic, other clubs in England and Europe expressed interest in signing him.

The left-back has now revealed that he was aware of Arsenal’s interest when he was just 18 years old. Arsenal defeated competition from many of them to sign him to their roster.

He said, via The Daily Mail:

First when Arsene Wenger was in charge. I was only 18 years old, played maybe 35 games for Celtic and a few times in the Europa League. But I was still a boy. I wasn’t ready. You see some players move early and it doesn’t work out.
